Bai Xep Beach in Quy Nhon, Central Vietnam

Bai Xep beach is one of the Top 3 Beaches in Quy Nhon and a perfect beach getaway for beach lovers. Along with my favourite beach in Vietnam, Ky Co beach, Bai Xep beach is also an awesome day trip from Quy Nhon city. There is a good number of restaurants and we loved the beach as well as the local village here.

Find out how to get there and what there is to do and eat at Bai Xep beach in this post!

There are few different places called Bai Xep village and beach if you search on Google Map. So it’s best to search Confetti Guest House or Life’s a Beach on Google Map to arrive at this Bai Xep beach. It is 12KM down south from Quy Nhon city and about 20 minutes by car or motorbike. Taxi ride from the city costs about 150,000VND. Or you can rent a motorbike from the city for about 120,000VND per day and enjoy the ride.

We went here by motorbike on our first day and really enjoyed the view over Quy Hoa beach as well as the mountainous road. The roads in Quy Nhon are very well paved and wide. So it shouldn’t be a problem even for beginners to drive.

The village entrance is located by Confetti Guest House by the road and there’s a big village map on the side. On the board, you can read that there are front beach on the left and after beach on the right from village well. Front beach is a dominantly a port for fishing boats and the back beach is where restaurants and hotels are.

It’s a slightly steep downhill from the main road until the fascinating village well. Here, you can turn right from the well to the back beach. If you drive here, you can park your motorbike right before the beach. And if you take a taxi here, the car won’t be able to reach until the well, so you can walk to the beach from where you’re dropped off.

The beach in front of the village is the north end of the beach and there are some resorts down south. We arrived around noon and the beach was deserted. There was absolutely no one swimming during the day when the sun was harsh except us two and three other foreigners on the resort side. So we had the entire beach to ourselves.

We enjoyed some cold refreshing Quy Nhon local beer at Life’s a Beach restaurant on the beach. And we absolutely loved the peaceful afternoon.

In the late afternoon, Vietnamese travellers as well as village locals began to come out. Also, street food stools were set up on the beach around this time. They quickly filled the beach and made the whole vibe lively with football, street food etc!

My boyfriend joined the boys for football and I had some chats with the village girls. We both really enjoyed and appreciated the completely different vibe from sunset!

Restaurants at Bai Xep Beach

Bai Xep beach Quy Nhon - Haven restaurant
Big Tree Bistro restaurant & hotel for wood fired pizza

Fresh seafood on the beach

I found a good number of restaurants and accommodations here. At the village side, there are two beachfront restaurants and hotels, Life’s a Beach and Big Tree Bistro. Life’s a Beach is a fantastic place to enjoy some good cold beer. Big Tree Bistro has wood fired pizza as well as some great western dishes. Also, there are some local seafood restaurants inside the village. In the evening, these local restaurants set up their seafood buckets and tables on the beach.

With plenty of dining options and the amazing first day at this beach, we decided to stay at here for a couple of nights. And we had good three days here. So Bai Xep beach is a great day trip from Quy Nhon city, but also an amazing choice of accommodation for a few days!
