Hanoi Festival of Culture & Food 2019

Hanoi Festival of Culture & Food 2019 is happening now in Thong Nhat Park. In Vienamese, the festival is called Lễ Hội Văn Hóa Ẩm Thực Hà Nội. (Translation: Lễ Hội – Festival, Văn Hóa – Culture, Ẩm Thực – Food)

I visited this festival last year in October and have been waiting for it since because I loved it so much! And it is finally back!

This festival is only open for three days – 7th to 9th June 2019. But I believe  that it is held twice a year because the last one was in Autumn and this one in Summer.

Banh Da Cua - a dish from Hai Phong

As the name suggests, you will be able to try different kinds of dishes from mostly Hanoi and northern Vietnam and few dishes from other parts of Vietnam such as middle and southern regions of Vietnam.

This festival is not huge in scale, but it’s like a mini-market full of Vietnamese essence of food and culture. So I believe that if anyone’s got only one day in Hanoi and lucky enough to be here while this festival is on, you will be able to try most of the must-try foods in Hanoi just in one place.

Com Me Tri - a ricecake specialty from Me Tri

Shops with history and reputation in Hanoi are also present here such as srhimp pancake and Kem Trang Tien.

There are traditional games available for you to try as well as artisan handmade souvenirs. This is a festival loved by locals and a perfect opportunity for foreigners to get a glimpse what Vietnamese food and culture have to offer. That’s why to me, it is an awesome full-package and I wish it is organised more often or few days longer each time.

Address: 354A Đường Lê Duẩn, Lê Đại Hành, Đống Đa, Hà Nội

There’s no entrance fee into the park.
