Huge Shopping Mall in Hanoi – Aeon Mall Long Bien

The weather is like sauna these days, super humid and too hot for outdoor activities. Spending a day in an indoor shopping mall with air-conditioning and lots of fun stuff to do can be a great break from the heat. There’s a huge shopping mall called Aeon mall in Long Bien district, about 5-6km away from the Old Quarter.

Aeon mall is a Japanese brand and is a complex with many shops, restaurants and entertainment options for families with children and young people to hang out. My last visit was on a Sunday and was completely packed, but I had a lot of fun playing games in the Dream Games Zone.

Food court on the second floor

There are two supermarkets and an electronics shop on the ground floor. Ground and first floors are mainly shops selling clothes and items and the second floor is where restaurants and most of the entertainment is. There is a great variety of dining options here as well as quite some international brands such as Mango, Aldo, Marks & Spencer etc. You can check out the full list here on their official website

On the ground floor, there is a kids zone next to the electronics store and there was a free event for those who spent more than 500,000VND to play the human crane machine game (photos above). Children can be hung onto the crane and parents navigate the child with remote control. And they get what the child can grab from the pool. The lucky boy got bags of crisps, a helmet and a doll!

Then there’s the Dream Games Zone, my favourite of all! There are lots of different kinds of crane machines and game machines. I think I can spend quite some time here trying all kinds of games.

Game coin machine & Price list

You can find these machines for game coins, which are used for playing games. ‘Xu’ means coin in Vietnamese and you can see the price list above. Normally, you can play one game with 2-3 coins. There was a slight change in the price list from 17th June 2019. The price list on the right side is the new price. In case your bill doesn’t get accepted by the machine or you don’t have the exact amount, you can go to the counter to exchange coins instead.

There are Mirror Maze and Ghost House on the second floor next to the Dream Games Zone as well. The price is 80,000VND per person.

On the third (top) floor, there’s a cinema and bowling zone. You can play by number of game which is 10 frames or by hour. The price is different depending on days of week and time. Check the photo of price list above for details.
