Local’s Suggestion Da Nang: Local Seafood Restaurant Near My Khe Beach for Affordable and Fresh Seafood Feast

Trip to an island or a beach destination cannot be complete without a visit to seafood restaurant, not just a restaurant but a good one. As Da Nang is a beautiful destination with a long stretch of coast along the city, there are tons of options to choose from when it comes to seafood expedition. But just like in many touristy beach destinations, restaurant prices can be rather exaggerated when targeted to tourists.

My Vietnamese friend who lives in Da Nang and married a local Da Nang girl said that the restaurants by the beach is way too over-priced and promised to take us to the best local seafood restaurant at an affordable price when we visit.

Last week, a group of friends and I flew to Da Nang to attend our friend’s wedding and we were taken to a seafood restaurant nearby the My Khe beach. Only two blocks away from the beach was the huge restaurant. With quite a large number of tables in and outdoor, many tanks filled with fresh seafood, and the overall atmosphere certainly gave a great first impression.

With local friends’ company, it is really convenient to sit and wait while they take care of the orders. But don’t worry even if you’re not accompanied with locals. The staff here probably do not speak any or much English, but you’ve got the tanks of seafood to pick with your eyes and fingers.

We were a big group of people (around 10 people), so we could order a great number of dishes from snails and oysters to mantis shrimp. It was a long table covered with a huge feast of seafood delicacies. The variety of textures, flavours and sauces were absolutely enjoyable and the freshness of each and every dish served made our meal highly satisfactory.

There were many more dishes, but I didn’t manage to take pictures before everyone’s hands were on to try the delectable dishes. What’s crazy is that this restaurant has a massive selection of menu – about few hundreds, so make sure you’re ready to try as many of what they have to offer.

I remember paying about 450,000VND per person in a popular seafood restaurant packed with locals in Phu Quoc island, which was not on a low-end for Vietnam. But here in Da Nang, we paid 250,000VND per person (that’s like 11USD), which is almost only half compared to Phu Quoc and definitely very affordable.
