Vietnamese cuisine is heavenly and very flavourful, but everyone has that moment of craving for Western food, which might be more of a comfort food than Vietnamese for many travellers. And it’s great to have a little break from days of local dishes.

Living in Vietnam is wonderful and I love Vietnamese cuisine so much. Yet, I have great cravings for real and authentic Italian food sometimes. When I just moved here, it was not easy to find a place with decent pizza and pasta in Hanoi. I had to do some research and trials to find those true gem spots.

I thought it’d be great to share the best pizzerias in Hanoi, which are loved and recommended by many locals and expats living in Hanoi to help you find a place to fulfill your pizza craving in Hanoi. So here are the top 4 Italian restaurants in Hanoi and the list is not in specific order.

Pizza 4P’s is a pizza restaurant chain in Vietnam created by a Japanese owner. The menus here are Japanese and Italian inspired. So there’s a mix of authentic Italian pizzas and pasta as well as some with a Japanese twist. Their concept of ‘farm to table’ and ‘house-made cheese’ reassure the freshness and ingredients. The atmosphere of Pizza 4P’s restaurants are casual and ambient allowing guests to enjoy a cosy meal with beloved friends and families.

There are restaurants in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang and Nha Trang. And for Hanoi, making a reservation 1 day in advance is recommended for dinner because all the restaurants are always packed – both weekday and weekends.

Located right beside St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Old Quarter Hanoi, this restaurant can take you to Italy the moment you step in. I was introduced to this restaurant by an Italian friend living in Hanoi as the best and real Italian pizza place in town.  The menus here are authentic and genuinely Italian. The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of a small local restaurant in an Italian town. Although the price is quite high maybe due to the touristy location and ingredients they use, it’s a great place to satisfy pizza craving.
