Where to Party in Hanoi? – Best Night Clubs & Bars

A visit to Hanoi cannot be complete without a night out in the beer street. It is located in the Old Quarter (Ta Hien & Luong Ngoc Quyen streets) and is where most travellers and many locals go out for beer and party.

You can start off with a nice and cold glass of draught Hanoi beer and might want to order some dishes to fill up your stomach and fuel up for the night. Vehicles are forbidden to enter many streets including the beer street here between 7pm and midnight from Friday to Sunday and it’s the most crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. Hence, more difficult to walk pass or get a table, but the liveliest and most fun!

One downside of nightlife in Hanoi is that the closing hours are way earlier than what many of us would want. By law, all clubs and bars should close by midnight during the week (Monday – Thursday) and by 3:00 in the morning during the weekends (Friday – Sunday). But there are some sneaky clubs and bars that still operate behind the shutter after these hours. So do not worry!

1900 Le Theatre

1900 Le Theatre is one of the two big and high-end clubs in the Old Quarter. It opened a few years ago and instantly became a hot spot for many young locals and foreigners. It is not my favourite place, but many of my local friends love this club and it might be worth a visit to experience what a Vietnamese nightclub is like.

Local bar is the smallest bar in this list. It is right on the very main street of the beer street (same street as 1900) and is packed most days and especially during the weekends. They play good old songs and many backpackers go out for a drink and dance in this bar.
