If there is one city that we loved from our Vietnam trip and would definitely come back to, it has to be Da Nang. The coastal city has so much to offer amidst its slow-paced lifestyle. With a river running in the heart of the city to the vast endless beaches against the Indian ocean, Da Nang has something for every tourist, be it someone looking for a laid-back time or a jammed-up plan with back-to-back destinations and attractions to cover. The city is so much more than what it appears and still has a long way to go before it makes it big as a tourist destination. The New York times in a recent article rightly called Da Nang, the Miami of Vietnam. Listed as one of the top destinations to visit this year, the city is already starting to make a place for itself in the world of tourism.
While there are many things Vietnam is known for, the one distinct thing about Vietnam is the food. We knew we had to be eating our way through this trip to make the most of it. From coffees to the Banh Mis, Vietnamese cuisine made its way up to our favorite cuisine by the end of this trip. And these cafes that lined our trip from the beginning to the end had so much to do with it. Vietnam has an excellent coffee culture, you could people-watch with locals in a small joint with some incredible coffee or sip on some cold beverages in a more uptown and Insta-pleasing cafes.
So, listed in no particular order here are our favorite cafes in Da Nang which you must pay a visit while in the city.
1) Golem Cafe
After passing many pretty and chic cafes, the cab slowed down across a narrow alley which graciously held up the board leading to the Golem Café. Popular across the gram from their dirty coffee, this humble café has both indoor and outdoor seating with well-appointed vintage props scattered across the café. The menu which consisted only of drinks had the best of coffees and tea. We got a dirty coffee and passionfruit tea. The coffee but everything but dirty, the hints of chocolate, rich coffee, and the presentation made it worth the hype while the Kumquat tea too stood out in terms of the freshness.

2) Ka Cong Cafe
Ka Cong Café was the first café we went to in Da Nang, and the moment we entered to the even after we left Vietnam, this café was one of our favorites. The warm staff, quirky interior, and vast menu – all had us hooked! Each corner of this café is so distinct and photogenic we could not help but pounce out of our seats now and then to see something new! Here we ordered the coconut coffee, peach tea and a Com Ga (chicken fried rice). Everything was perfect especially the coconut coffee. The dried flakes of coffee just fetched it bonus points!

3) Doll Coffee
Soon after you walked in Doll Coffee a sense of relief sets upon you. Tucked away into a small alley away from the hustle-bustle of the city, boasting delicate greenery this café is every bit of a secret garden sanctuary. Both with indoor and outdoor seating, this café serves up some amazing cheap coffee with the side of some much-needed peace making it a must-visit to begin your day! We just had a couple of Vietnamese coffee here which came highly recommended.

4) Da Nang Souvenir & Cafe
Of all the cafes we visited in Da Nang, this was a chance encounter and we are so glad we found this place. While walking along the river after dinner we came across this beautiful shop showcasing some amazing souvenirs in an aesthetically pleasing setting. Once we entered the shot, to our surprise we found the shop sharing the space with a small yet pretty café. We decided to order a mango and peach tea which were both delicious. Sitting there as a conclusion to our day was beyond perfect! We also managed to pick up some cute fridge magnets and postcards from the store.
Address: 34 Bạch Đằng, Thạch Thang, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam
5) Long Cafe
While there are many more pretty and Instagram savvy cafés, we had to visit a local coffee joint known for coffee and only that. Long Café came highly recommended and rightly so. With only local brews and favorites on the menu, this café is the perfect place to sip on excellent coffee while getting a glimpse into the local life. People-watching here on the small traditional benches sipping on chilled coffee was the perfect way to pass our time and take a break from the unbearable heat.
